The 2020 Emmy Awards are just over a month away, and it’s still unclear what this year’s format will be.

There may not be a red carpet for our favorite celebs to walk, but that isn’t stopping us from talking all things red carpet fashion!

We’re taking a look back at our favorite Emmy’s fashion moments over the past 10 years in every color — glitz and glam from head-to-toe.

Red

Unless you were living under a rock in 2011, you definitely remember this jaw-dropping moment when The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev turned heads in this figure-hugging Donna Karan gown. Red Hot!

Pink

Tracee Ellis Ross on the 2018 awards ceremony carpet wearing an off-the-shoulder Valentino Haute Couture gown. The Blackish actress is living proof that hot pink can be high fashion.

Orange

Viola Davis stunned at the 2017 Emmy Awards in this gorgeous bright orange Zac Posen gown. This was her third straight year being nominted for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in How to Get Away With Murder.

Yellow

Last year’s Emmy Awards were definitely one of the most fashionable. Actress Kristin Cavallari rocked this incredible Nicole Felicia Couture gown paired with matching Stuart Weitzman heels and Kallati earrings on the 2019 carpet. Who said blondes can’t wear yellow?

Green

There is no denying that Euphoria actress Zendaya left everyone in awe in this emerald green Vera Wang gown with matching satin Brian Atwood pumps. Accessorized with a breathtaking diamond bracelet and diamond drop earrings, courtesy of Cartier, Zendaya is hands down one of the best dressed of all time. Although she wasn’t nominated that evening, she certainly won the night.

Blue

While some critics argue that it missed the mark, others say it is a work of art, and we agree with the latter. January Jones’s strapless Atelier Versace gown is made entirely of bright blue silk satin petals and was different than anything else on the carpet back in 2010. We love a risk taker, and this one paid off!

Purple

No one can forget when TV personality Kelly Osbourne showed up on the Emmys red carpet back in 2012 in this beautiful Zac Posen gown after a dramatic 85 pound weight loss exuding confidence and radiance. Does anyone else have the sudden urge to get lavender highlights? Us too.

Black

Actress Angela Sarafyan is giving us major princess vibes and is absolutely stunning in this Christian Siriano ballgown at the 2018 Emmy Awards. A total showstopper!

Silver/Gray

Not only is Kerry Washington one of our favorite stars ever, but this Marc Jacobs gown is by far our favorite metallic Emmy look. Worn on the red carpet at the 2015 Emmy Awards, this dress came straight from the designer’s spring collection show just three days prior. We love everything from the midi length to the embroidered lace and embellished shoulders. 10/10!

Gold

Claire Danes stepped out in a Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown accessorized with Forevermark diamonds at the 2016 awards looking like an Emmy herself! We love this even more knowing that Danes didn’t even see her dress until a few days before she walked the carpet. Surprise!

White

White Hot! Orange Is The New Black star Laverne Cox arrived at the 2014 red carpet in this custom Marc Bouwer dress paired with Fred Leighton jewelry. This dress is almost as breathtaking as the actress herself!

The 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards air on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 5pm PST.
